Blog Post 5!

今週は楽しかったです。はい、とてもいそがしかったです。月曜日と火曜日と水曜日と木曜日はクラスに行きました。私の誕生日は先週の木曜日でした。今、十九歳です。古いです。先週の金曜日、クラスの後で、うちに行きました。だから、私は両親に会いました。うちで、猫を見ました。とてもかわいいです。私は母にセーターとケーキと本をもらいました。

先週の土曜日に友達といっしょにダンスに行きました。楽しかったです。そして、日曜日に十二時間図書館で会計を勉強しました。とても難しいです。だから、大変です。今日はテストの会計です。好きじゃないです。

Japanese Exposure Video #2

For this post, I watched another video from the creator Speak Japanese Naturally about a Japanese high school. When the narrator's son goes to school, she explains that he has a 9 minute walk from the station to the school, and takes us on the journey herself. The school was preparing for their school festival, called "Blue Dragon Festival" (蒼龍歳). They were selling food, like ham and cheese crepes. 

Also, the area surrounding the school has beautiful mountains and is fairly rural. I learned that they place  misters (ミスト) on the trees to help combat the heat and humidity during the summer time. 

先週末！

先週末、私は友達とアメフトをみました（🏈）。それから、午前1時ごろに寮に帰りましたが、寝ませんでした。カップケーキを食べました（🎂)。とても美味しいかったです。そして、午前2時半ごろ寝ました。日曜日の昼に私は午後2時ごろに図書館に行きました。それから、7時に食堂に行きました。食堂の後で、たくさん寮で勉強しました。先週末、とても忙しいです。

Japanese Exposure Video

I just watched the video "Japanese Listening Practice | Supermarket and Christmas in Japan" by the creator Speak Japanese Naturally. She took a trip to a local supermarket (スーパー), and bought ingredients to prepare a Christmas dinner. If I understood the video correctly, she compared her dinner to the American food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), which was extremely interesting. I don't think of basing Christmas dinner off of a KFC meal. 

She talked about the prices of various 野菜 and 肉. I learned that '半額' means half off of the price, and the drinking age is 二十歳.

 こんにちは　みなさん、

初めまして。私はブリン・アンダーソンです。私の出身はアメリカのミシガンです。ノートルダム大学の一年生です。先行は日本語とファイナンスです。私の趣味はゴルフと本とアニメです。ゴルフとハンターxハンターが大好きです。

During this semester, I'm aiming to heavily improve my speaking and listening skills, as well as thinking more in Japanese while doing my day-to-day things. I have taken Japanese in the past, but I am nowhere near fluent, and I would love to be. I hope to immerse myself in the language as much as I can, along with learning about Japan's culture.
